Northumberland Car Badge

Northumberland. Manufactured in Resin and having a Stainless backing plate, by Renamel of London from the early 60’s until 1974 when the County Boundaries of England were changed. The shield shows a field divided into eight vertical strips (paly of eight) representing Hadrians Wall which divided Scotland from England. The Crest on top of the Shield shows a blue Lion with extended tail and comes from the Percy family who were Earls and Dukes of Northumberland.
