Buckinghamshire. Manufactured in Resin and having a Stainless backing plate, by Renamel of London from the early 60’s until 1974 when the County Boundaries of England were changed. The Arms granted on March 23, 1948. The Shield shows a white Swan with a Duke's coronet round it's neck attached to a heavy gold chain. This swan was a badge of the ancient family of De Bohn, and of the Giffards who were Earls of Buckingham, and then the Staffords who were the first Dukes of Buckingham. In the top (Cheif) can be seen against green representing a green field is the Whiteleaf Cross (Latin Cross) , the only conspicuous prehistoric feature in the County. The Crest on top of the Shield shows a Tree on a coloured wreath,
