Hampshire Car Badge

Hampshire. Manufactured in Resin and having a Stainless backing plate, by Renamel of London from the early 60’s until 1974 when the County Boundaries of England were changed. Centre of the shield shows a red Lancaster rose, seeded and with thorns. Tudor rose, showing the rose seeded and with thorns. The Crown was added in 1399 when the Duchy of Lancaster was joined to the crown in 1399. Edmund, Earl of Lancaster, brother of King Edward I, both had many estates in Hampshire which is why the Lancaster rose came to represent Hampshire.
