Flintshire (Sir Y Fflint). (Welsh) 4.25” tall (109mm) Manufactured by Renamel of London, centre part in resin and having the Crown and “R” on the front of the tang. The shield incorporates the arms of Edwin of Tegeingl who is said to have been King of Tegeingl in the Dark Ages - the kingdom covered that part of Flintshire lying north of a line from Mold to Hawarden. According to one account he was a descendant of Hywel Dda. He founded one of the Fifteen Royal Tribes of North Wales. The black birds (Choughs) normally known as Cornish Choughs, but regarded as Celtic by the Welsh. c 1960’s early 1970's
